To verify the toughness of the Panasonic Toughbook 30, the computer was put through a series of field application tests, and it passed each one. The Toughbook 30 operated normally at altitudes up to 15,000 feet, without the assistance of pressurization. The computer was subjected to temperatures as high as 140 degrees Fahrenheit and down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit. This Panasonic machine was also put through a temperature shock test, which quickly dropped the temperature from extreme highs to extreme lows in a matter of minutes.
